Haunted Farm in Stephenville, Texas
The farm is a family farm used mostly on weekends by the family. The farmhouse in use, which we did not explore, is one hundred years old this year, and was being repainted at the time. There are a couple other houses in use on the property, and then there’s the Thompson house and barn, which are dilapidated and not in use. There is also an old family cemetery on the property behind the house that contains three graves of young children, late 1880’s. The graves are on a hill and isolated inside a copse of trees and underbrush. These are not family graves.
When we arrived back to the farm from Altman Cemetery, we headed across the road from the main farmhouse, back into the woods toward the old Thompson house and barn. Jed, the family dog, tailed along with us. It was about a twenty-minute walk down a dirt road, with woods on the right and pasture to the left. To get to the house we had to walk through a lot of mesquite brush, and I think we all got a bit barbed at one point or another.
The house was open on one side and the roof had fallen in on that front side. You could see an inner wall and a doorway, and to the left was an inaccessible old storm cellar. Between the house and he cellar was a tall oak tree with a rusted chain hanging from an upper branch. The house, and especially the cellar, we very spooky looking, but no one recorded any activity there. There’s a field between the house area and the barn, and old railroad tracks ran through that field past the house on a small rise in the land. This is also where the windmill sits, and the barn back a ways from the windmill. Directly across from the windmill and toward the highway was another large tree, and Allison, Michelle, Krystal and I all got orb photographs here. There were odd temp drops, to about 40F in this area as well. No EMF readings. At this time the windmill was locked, so there was no movement. I took a picture here that shows the moon clearly, and the windmill is almost not visible. The next picture after that shows a white mist at the edge of the frame, and you can clearly make out the windmill.
From here we went on to the barn. Krystal and Allison took pictures that showed orange orbs in the barn area, and Michelle set her video camera on a tripod just outside the barn area, aiming at us. Phil walked off behind the barn, Blanca was off in a field, and Jeff and I went into the barn, leaving Allison, Krystal and Michelle stayed at the entrance. I didn’t feel anything inside the barn, and none of my pictures showed anything anomalous. Allison started to take a step over the threshold into the barn, and stepped back. She said that it felt so bad here that she didn’t think she could enter the barn, and she did not. Jeff went out to the back side of the barn, and we all split up in our own directions. Phil and Jeff were off somewhere, Blanca was still in a field, Allison was at the back of the barn and Michelle, Krystal and I were around the side of the barn. I saw a red light flash in the area in front of the barn, and Jed started barking from off behind us. At the same time, Jeff’s young cousin saw a red light from where Jed’s barking was coming from.
At this point, I joined Allison at the back of the barn. She has a pained look on her face, and said that she felt that children were here, and a woman who had been abused, and the presence of a very, very, bad man who was scaring the children. She felt like something very bad had happened in the barn loft.
We all joined back together now and walked back to the area in front of the windmill. Michelle set up her tripod, and Jeff unlocked the windmill. There was no wind at this point, and yet the windmill was cranking, the way someone spinning a bicycle wheel would. Spinning fast, slowing, and fast again as if some unseen force gave it a whirl. Things really started to pick up now. Michelle was catching darting orbs on video, and we were all hovered around. Jed was barking his head off at the small brush area behind us, and we could hear coyotes howl from the woods behind the barn, as well as some high pitched moaning that was distinctly different from the windmill whining or the coyote howls. As we were huddled as a group around the video camera, Allison and I both stood back and took pictures containing orbs all around our heads. Michelle got some very strange video, almost like orbs darting and making small radius circles within their flight path. It was the strangest thing I’ve even seen on film. The feel in the area was very creepy and full, as if there were eyes all around us. There were no EMF readings, and a few temperature drops, but nothing more than 10 degrees.
Allison and Blanca walked off toward the windmill and stayed there for some twenty minutes, and the rest of us were still all glued to the video. The majority of the still and video pictures were taken in this area.
At about 9:45PM we headed back towards the farmhouse to head up to the small cemetery. This was back down the road, and then up the main road a small way. There was a barbed wire gate, a small, very overgrown path, and then a copse of trees that circled the three old graves. We had to crouch low to enter the small clearing, and we were crammed in like sardines. Michelle shot video, and we all took pictures. Allison started to feel claustrophobic and went back to the road, and Blanca joined her. After awhile, it was just Michelle, Krystal and I in the clearing, and I was feeling a presence behind us. I took some photos and we moved on, back down the road to the farmhouse.
Behind the farmhouses there was a cow pasture, and Jeff, Blanca and Phil headed out there while we taped, and got a lot of unexpected orb activity over the cows. The temp was steady here, and again no EMF readings. 10:45 PM we left.
